VENTILATION Heat is the enemy of those little extras—cable boxes, satellite
receivers, DVD/Blu-ray players, and game boxes. Make sure the cabinet is
properly ventilated (some have fan-forced cooling). If not, drill vent holes.
CONVENIENCE Today, components can be operated even if they’re behind
closed cabinet doors or in a different room
by simply adding a remote eye
(technically called a remote control repeater system). When a tiny sensor
mounted on the front of the TV picks up activity from the remote control, it
transmits the signal to a control box housed with the AV components.
